You won’t remember this

(For Amber my GD – and all the other little ones)

Whatever happens you won’t remember this.

You won’t need the things you never missed.

You will live in a world of gratitude, humility and bliss.

Hopefully where everyone can co-exist.

A future place where no man shakes an angry fist,

At a shop assistant simply trying to scan the stupid items,

On his essential shopping list!

Thankfully you were too young to understand;

Too young to see the damage we had done and the anger that erupted, when our lives were so abruptly interrupted.

Blind to the things we thought we needed;

When life became so hard we couldn’t hold our nearest and our dearest;

When a virus simply got in between us!

You’ll take it all in your stride,

When there is no longer a need to hide.

You’ll never need the things you never had.

You’ll never wake up feeling sad.

Instead you’ll stumble out of bed.

No fear.

No dread.

And we’ll all be waiting there to watch you,

As you help fix this broken world…

While standing on your head!
